Upgrading the audio with the stock headunit without the factory amplifier

Upgrading the audio with the stock headunit in cars without the factory amplified is easy with the Blaupunkt PnP (Plug and Play) amplifiers. Two models suit the Golf Mark V and fit under the left hand side front seat where the factory amplifier would sit. Two parts are required, the amplifier itself and the PnP wiring harness which is available in two lengths, 2.5m for mounting under the seat and 5.5m for mounting in the rear of the car. Part number for the wiring is 7 607 622 016 001 (suits many other Volkswagen models as well). No alterations to the wiring is required, you unplug the headunit and plug an adapter in between the wiring harness and the headunit, this redirects the speaker outputs to the amplifier and the amplifier sends the amplified sound back to the factory harness.

This photo is of the part of the harness that plugs into the headunit. There is one more components which are the parts of the harness that run to and from the amplifier, the 2.5m is on the left and the 5.5m on the right below. Part number for the 2.5m is THA25M and for the 5.5m is THA55M.
