@Maverick, regarding points 3 and 4 raised by LiFers, he makes a valid point.

I suggest that you update your articles to be more technically correct. I'm sure everyone would rather read correct articles rather than your personal standard of "good enough" journalism. Otherwise, nice site with useful info, keep up the great work!

1) As clearly stated these outputs are for H7 bulbs as commonly used by Volkswagen. H4 bulbs are completely different and have a higher output. The lumens of each bulb have been determined by checking the manufacturer specifications and are correct.
2) This article discusses using high performance halogen bulbs as a replacement for standard bulbs in reflector housing, there are no lenses in reflector housings and the filament of the bulb plays a much bigger part in the usable light output.
3) Noted and this will be changed when there is the explanation about the kelvin scale added, for the meantime "browner light colour" is clearly understood whilst not technically correct.
4) See 3 above again this is clearly understood whilst not technically correct.

This article is full of inaccuracies.
1) You've written that all the lumen outputs are the same, this is wrong. For instance the Plus 80s should be around 2000 lumen (I'm holding the packet for a Narva H4 in my hand).

2) You say "Lumens... should not be used to measure the performance of a bulb"
This is inaccurate. Lumens measure the light output of the bulb. Kelvin measures the colour temperature. The lenses in your headlights determine the throw of the light, regardless (to a high degree) of the shape of the filament of the bulb. Performance should be judged directly on lumen output (the higher the brighter) and kelvin (the higher the cooler/bluer, the lower the warmer/oranger).

3) You say "browner light colour". Noone uses 'brown' to describe warm light. It's orange.

4) You say "Whiter light". No such thing as Whiter light. White is white, but its temperature varies massively on the kelvin scale. Warm white is no "whiter" than cool white, it's warmer.
