  1. Has anybody had any joy with this? Last year I upgraded to firmware 0150 without issue, but when I try to upgrade to 0240 all it says is “SW UPDATE FAILED”. The USB drive is formatted to FAT and the firmware is the only thing on it. I was hoping they’d have fixed the Mix All file limit in this release but I just can’t get it to work.

  3. Is there a new update to the firmware for 2014? My Iphone 5 will not pair with the MDI since the IOS 7.1 update. Any help would be much appreciated.

  4. I’ve just updated the RCD-310 on my 2011 VW Polo Match (bought second-hand this year) with this update (0240 KW22-2011) as it was suffering the start of track stutter that others describe – e.g. The update appeared to go ok; I saw the message ‘SW UPDATE SUCCESSFUL’. Unfortunately, when I connect my iPhone 3GS now, all I see on the 310 display is ‘NO TITLE’, and I can no longer play any music from the phone. (The CD and radio continue to be ok, as we’d expect.)

The reason I chose this version update is that the page for the next later one on this web site has the comment “[…] MDI 0530-0546 KW22-2012 (this is only for vehicles produced from week 22 of 2012 – it will not install on older versions of hardware) […]”, so that excludes my 2011 RCD-310. This update is – I think – the latest I can have.

For information, I’d like to know how one displays the firmware versions installed in a VW’s infotainment system.

It’s disappointing that – apparently – downgrades are not possible. (I tried reverting to version 150 – got a ‘SW UPDATE FAILED’ message.)

What do I do now – ask my VW dealer for assistance?

  5. I did MD5 sums against 0150 and 0240 firmwares offered on this page. It seems both files are the same and version 0150!!! This is an error!

Anyone know where to get the real 0240 SW update?

  6. DO NOT UPDATE to either 0150 or this 0240!!!

It has got an annoying bug!

When the tracks from USB flash switch to next automatically, often you get DOS filenames displayed instead of correct/full ones.

File name is “Nicole Scherzinger – Don’t hold your breath.mp3”
And on the radio it shows this: “NICOLE~1”

Is there any way to downgrade version to 0111? I never had any problems with it.

  7. “hid3” is correct, this file is the same as 0150, I also did an MD5 hash and additionally a binary compare between 0150 and this 0240 download and they are absolutely the same.
This is the reason we are getting “SW UPDATE FAILED” when trying to use this update, its because we are trying to re-apply the 0150 update which we already have installed.

If someone has the real 0240 update please post it, because 99% of downloads for this file on the internet lead here, and the rest 1% are broken links.

This download should also be removed from here until corrected because it confuses people needlessly.

    Thank you!

    1. Hi HRC did you ever get to find out if there is a real 240 update or wher it is?

I just loaded the 150 update then went to update thiswith the 240 but only got the Failed sign up?

      Any ideas would be great

Unfortunately no, I am still on the 150. I did try to search more for the 240 but I didn’t have any luck finding it anywhere.
